Expo Essay( Your topic)

From reading the text, the debate that I saw being portrayed is  that there is no way to determine if a movie is for kids or even adults anymore. While i was reading i believe that the two communities that are going up against each other in this scenario is one the people that are complaining about the movies and how there is no real way to determine the difference between was is adult like and made for kids and the other side is i think just entirely made up of the people making the movies in hollywood.

Side one, which is pretty much the reviewers of the movies, I believe there argument is all surrounded by the fact that movies in general there is no way to determine what can be considered an adult film. One example was brought up by the movie Deadpool and wolverine and how that is considered an adult film however, because of the many jokes and the lack of character depth they believe that this isn’t an adult film. The reviewer also goes on to say that a way you can make it adult is one of two things, one he says that it lacks SEXXXX and also more story on character based on depth and writing since they feel an emotional attachment to one of the characters.

However, i believe that its a stupid reason because i feel as though that yes it could be hard to determine what is made for kids and what is made for adults but the reason why i think is stupid is that teh additions of jokes in adult movies is i feel like is not to make the movie childish but to make more entertaining for the person watching the movie. However I also believe there is much more preference depending on what the movie is that you’re watching and how connected you felt watching the movie. For example, if you were to put oppenheimer which is arguably one of the best movies but then put 22 jump street which is one of the dumbest and funniest movies to be made i would much rather watch 22 jump street mainly because i know imma have a good time watching it and get some laughs, but the same argument can be made if it was reversed for example, i would much rather watch the first joker movie who was played by joaquin phoenix which i also believe was one of the best movies ever made and with one of the best written characters because it even made my mother cry because she started thinking of her own family, over any marvel movie mainly because i always thought they try way to hard to be funny that it takes away from the movie but not all marvel movies but usually all.

I don’t believe there is really a solution because directors will make what they like depending on the situation and there not gonna listen to people about how, “oh it’s too childish i thought it was for adults” but i do think a way to solve this in my opinion is simple the ones watching the movie they just need to watch a movie their gonna like and even if they don’t like it doesn’t no one doesnt there always gonna be someone who likes and even if the characters depth isn’t there in your eyes for other people there could be a story being told for them.
